What A Mobile Phone

Well everyone, I've been playing with the G1 for a few days now and I must say, what an excellent phone. It's fast, easy and comes with a shed load of great apps, etc...

The size may not be everyone's cuppa tea, but the shear speed of the operating system (Android 1.5) is amazing.

I'm not going to write a full lengthly review about this phone due to time and you can find them all over the place but if you are going to buy one there is just one small thing that bugs me. The bluetooth works, but only on certain hardware, e.g. - mobile phones.

I have a Samsung E390 which does pick up the G1, but thats it. It will not connect nor find any services, yet the G1 can be found on my USB bluetooth dongle connected to my PC.

Just hope the software engineers figure it out very soon, besides all that buy one, wifi and G3 broadband is fantastic.

Google G1 Phone

I've ordered a brand new Google G1 mobile phone from T-Mobile with a very good deal thats on offer, the deal is unlimited internet access, unlimited text and 800 free call minutes to any number except 09, etc...all for £30 per month.

The phone should be arriving tomorrow and I cannot wait. The phone will come in very handy while on the move at least I will be able to twitter and view the website for updates extra.

New Surplus Stock Added

I've been looking through the adverts today and already a number of surplus stock have been added by registered members. They range from MP3 Players to Mobility Scooters. I did see a bulk suply of Apples iPhone for the price of around £250 each. I may ask the member to relist them again depending how popular the visitors searching become.

As the website is getting more popular, mostly due to twitter, visitors are searching for unusal things like a fountain, helment, oil purifier, b2b company, and more...view for yourself here.

Well, I'm off, back into the twittosphere.

Completely Free News Release?

I was looking into having a news (press) release written to promote WriteBuy, so after doing some searching through Google I stumbled across SEO-Writer. The form contacted a news release writer David Leonhardt, President of The Happy Guy Marketing.

David replied back after looking through WriteBuy's website by email and said "...honestly I don't see anything newsworthy there." But he did come up with a simple solution, "Down the road, maybe even do a news release on the strange things businesses have sold at WriteBuy.com. That would be news."

This got me thinking if a business was to place a strange item for sale like moonfruit they will then be mentioned in out next press release and possibly a sale. Also, if a business does not have anything out of the ordinary, they will still have a very good chance selling their item due to the large publicity, and all this for free.

David also mentioned to promote items by blog and twitter with the title "You're selling what?!?".

Until we see a strange item for sale no news release will be done as of yet, but can your business help?

Affordable Marketing Techniques

Running a business is a lot of work. It takes time and dedication to get it off the ground and to keep it going. One of the major keys to success for any business is to market to potential customers and to promote the business as much as possible. Promoting your business doesn't have to take a ton of time or break the bank, so to speak. It can be a cost-effective way to get your business noticed, if you do it right.

First off, take advantage of anything that potential customer might see or come in contact with, such as letters, stationary, e-mails, and even other promotional items such as pens, mugs, t-shirts, and custom table covers (which will be used at marketing or company events). Put your logo with your company name and number, and even a slogan if you have one, on all of your paper or electronic correspondence. The promotional items can be given away at company events or to visiting clients. Everybody likes free stuff, and every time they see that pen or mug, they'll be getting a reminder of your company.

When marketing and promoting, make sure you take advantage of the internet. It is the only way where you can market to mass amounts of people all over the world, simultaneously. You can do this through a company Blog, through internet ads, websites, online forums, and even buddy marketing where you promote a friend's company on your site, and they do the same for you on theirs. Buddy marketing is a method you can use online as well as through your mail campaign. You simply put one of your friend's brochures in your mailings, and they do the same for you. This is a great way to double your target audience without spending tons of money on extra marketing.

Another completely inexpensive way to market is through your vehicle. You use the car often anyway; most of us use it on a daily basis. Why not take advantage of that? All you have to do is put your number on your car with a quick advertisement. Many people get customers for their company by advertising with their car. It's affordable and it works.

Just remember, you don't have to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a marketing campaign. If you use what you already have at your disposal such as your car, the internet, and your company correspondence, you can promote your business to a huge audience in an easy, affordable way.

It's official, WriteBuy is much cheaper than ebay

Just out of interest we did an experiment on an item for sale through ebay and WriteBuy. The experiment looked at how much would it cost overall for a 30 day ad. The item was worth £995.95 each and we had 10 items for sale.

Ebay

We did not want to spend a large amount of money to place a listing so a very simple listing was made, nothing fancy for a 30 day period, this amounted to just £0.40p. But ebay said for each item sold a £44.90 would be charged, so that's £44.90 x 10 = £449.00, totaling to £449.40.

WriteBuy

To place a similar simple ad for the same amount of days on WriteBuy it would cost only £5. WriteBuy only charges for a small percentage per ad, depending on the amount that item is for sale. The member can then choose how many days they wish for the same price starting from 7 up to 30 days.
